That title should be self explanatory…
I first ran into Freud’s concepts as a high-school senior, in an intro psych class. But I first read Freud in an undergraduate political theory class–Freud’s Civilization and Its Discontents is a standard text for that field, or at least it was then. (I don’t remember what it says any more, though!)
